Caring Café

Who is the Café for?

The Café is for any carer of an older person either with the older person they care for or by themselves, living in the Borough of Lewisham. Also for carers of people with learning difficulties over 50 and the person they care for.

Opening times

The Café is open every Saturday from 10.30am – 4pm.
Free tea and coffee is served all day.
Lunch is available from 12 – 1pm at a subsidised cost.


Please join us

It would be great to see you, please pop in any Saturday and enjoy a break from the routine of constant caring and make new friends at the same time.

What we do

The Café is staffed by a team of Crossroads Support Workers and volunteers, who are there to offer support and welcome newcomers.There are papers and magazines to read, games, music and people to talk to. There is an activity in the afternoon at 1pm.

Activities include massage, reiki, manicures, chair exercises, yoga, singing and musical entertainment. The users of the Café have enjoyed a number of coach trips with Support Workers available to help with wheelchair pushing so everyone had a break.Please contact us if you would like to receive a regular update of the activities.


Breaks for Carers

There are a few spaces for carers to leave the person they care for at the Café in the care of our staff while they do something else for a few hours. Please telephone the office for further details.

Help with Transport

If you would like to come to the Café and have difficulty in using public transport, please give us a call. A small fund is available to pay for a taxi to and from the Café. This is subject to certain criteria.
