About Us

Most of us juggle busy lives, but if you also look after a relative or friend who is ill, frail or disabled, you probably find it extremely difficult to have a full life of your own.

Your local national charity

Crossroads Care is a national network of local charities employing over 5,000 trained professional and helping over 35,000 people. We are Britain’s leading provider of support for carers and the people they care for.

There are six million people in Britain who care for others. Many reach a turning point, a crossroads, at which they feel they need help with caring, a sympathetic ear or some time to themselves. This is what Crossroads does.

Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime

Crossroads Care Greenwich & Lewisham is a charity whose mission is to promote, offer support and deliver high quality services for carers and people with care needs.

We send Carers’ Support Workers into people’s homes at specified times each week to give carers a chance to have a rest. They will provide the care that the carer normally provides to the cared for person including personal care, some domestic help and keeping the cared for person company or accompanying them on outings.

Our services are available from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm every day of the year.

We provide services to people in the Boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham.

If you live in a neighbouring borough that does not have a Crossroads Care service we may be able to help you or refer you to another organisation.

If you’d like to know more about the quality of our service, please look at our latest Care Quality Commission report at www.cqc.org.uk.

How it works

If you think that Crossroads may be able to help, we will visit you at home and, together with the person you care for, design the service that meets your respective needs.

As a carer or someone with care needs, you may be entitled to support funded by local government or you can choose to pay direct for Crossroads Care service or top up state entitlements. Whatever your situation, you can take comfort that, as a charity, we care for people not profit.

Peace of mind

If you’re going to have someone come into your home and step into your shoes, you may want reassurance. Crossroads Care has 35 years of experience. We’re well known for the quality of our service and try hard to fit into your life and not the other way round. We know that reliability, flexibility and continuity and important to you.

Our staff are fully trained in most aspects of practical care and are sensitive to the emotional pressures of caring. They love their work and their training and long experience means they understand what carers, and those they care for, need and feel. They know the simple things that matter, they do the hard jobs with a smile and they take pleasure fitting into your life. Its no surprise that we build long and trusted relationships and that more people turn to Crossroads Care than to any other social care provider.
